Riccardo Giovanni was born in Rome
and spent his early years in Milan
and Nice. He received undergraduate
and graduate degrees in Boston.

In addition to poetry, he has also explored
the media of photography, finding success
in a number of solo gallery exhibitions.

As with his writing, his photography
frequently portrays veiled references to
the female body, shadows of emotions
and a sense of loss.

Most of the poems in this collection
were written during the years that
Giovanni lived in New York City.

He currently divides his time between
the mountains of western Panamá and
Rio De Janeiro.
